Volvo to launch the V60 Plug-in Hybrid in Europe in 2012

Volvo has released a press statement that they will be officially launching the new V60 Plug in Hybrid in Europe next year. It will also hit the International markets a little before the end of 2012. The hybrid car will be produced in two versions a diesel-electric and an electric-gasoline model. However the gasoline hybrid model has been made especially for the U.S. markets and the diesel-electric version will be sold in all other countries.

The V60 hybrid car is supposed to feature an all-wheel drive as the rear wheels are powered by the electric motor whereas the front wheels are powered by the turbocharged engine.Volvo has teamed up with Vattenfall , a Swedish company for the development of their new V60 Hybrid. A GPS navigation system will also be provided with the car.

Under the hood, the V60 features an electric motor that is driven by a 12 kWh Li ion battery and can provide an output of 70 horse power. However the bulk of the power will be produced by the 5-cylinder 2.4 liter diesel engine coupled to a turbocharger that can give an output power of 215 HP.

The Hybrid is highly fuel efficient and gives a mileage of 124 miles per gallon of fuel when running on the diesel engine power. When running on electric power only, the V60 can manage only 31 miles after which the turbocharged diesel engine produces the necessary power.

The reputed automobile manufacturer has further stated that the Volvo V60 Hybrid car will cost more than the normal V60 but the running costs will reduced to one third. Volvo hopes the Hybrid car will be a success when it is released next year.

BMW to launch the Mini for Indian markets

The Germany based BMW has recently announced that they will be releasing the Mini luxury car in India in 2012. The small car will be optimized for Indian market and will feature many interesting accessories.

Andreas Schaaf, president of BMW India, has said that they are planning to develop the brand image of the Mini before its release next year. He also added that they will introduce one dealership in Mumbai and two more in the Delhi area. They also intend to open up to four dealerships in 2013 and the three more will be added in 2014.

Since the Mini is supposed to be a luxury automobile it will be targeting the upper class customers in India. BMW has indicated that the Mini will probably cost more than 25 lakh INR. The car was meant to be released by BMW in the year 2009 but the project was postponed to due viability reasons.
The Mini brand includes several models like coupe, convertible, hatchback, countryman and clubman. BMW will not be releasing all these variants and instead introduce only selective models suited to the Indian automotive market.

The biggest premium car brand in India BMW hopes to increase its activities in Indian region and is aiming to sell around 70,000 units annually by the year 2020. GM predicts lackluster US automotive sales for 2012

General Motors is troubled by their expected sales prediction for the year 2012. According to their CEO, Dan Akerson there will be a considerable decrease in the U.S. sales of all automobile manufacturers for the next year. It has been reported that Toyota’s market share has decreased to 12.5 per cent from 15.2 per cent. Honda has also lost their share from 10.6 per cent to 9 per cent. On the other hand the American automobile manufacturer has performed well this year and reported a 1 % increase in their US market stake in just nine months.

General Motors has projected the sales of light automobiles in the U.S to be around 12.8 to 12.7 million units. They have not revealed their percentage share in this projected sales figure. Akerson has stated that the recent agreement between UAW and GM will be critical in preserving their breakeven point. They expect to report profits even if the US sales volume reduces by 16 % to 10.5 million units next year.

The GM CEO believes that they are slated to increase their market share in the US and hopes to be report more profits in the next year.

Nissan reveals brand new NV 400 van for Europe

Nissan has announced that they will be releasing a brand-new heavy van the NV 400 in Europe. They are looking to lure customers with this new van model, which features quality components at an affordable cost.

Nissan has provided the NV 400 with new grille, front bumper, integrated daytime running headlights and an improved car framework. The van was developed in collaboration with premium automaker Renault and displays bold premium looks.

BMW has been working on the 2014 BMW F80 M3 sedan and some of the latest renderings have surfaced on the internet. Roger Lighterness a well-known graphics designer has generated the rendered version of the sedan based on the latest generation 3-series cars released by BMW recently. The website Bimmerpost was among the first to publish the latest renderings which depict the car in grey and reveal some interesting things about the car.

Under the hood of the new F80 M3, the engine is speculated to be built on M5’s 8- cylinder 4.4 liter V8 engine. The sedan is likely to be powered by the smaller displacement 3.3 liter six cylinder V-6 engine coupled to twin turbochargers to maximize power output.

There are also rumors that an electrically based tri turbocharger configuration may be introduced for the next M3 model. The power output of the engine configuration in the E46 M3 was roughly 340 Horse power and we hope that the 2014 M3 will surely provide around 450 Horse power.

The 2014 BMW M3 sedan outer body has been given more curves so as to give it an aggressive look. The two huge intakes feature prominently on the front side portion on the car. The annoying bonnet bulge has also been removed to improve the look to the renderings.

BMW 1M Coupe by TVW Car Design: Official Info and Photos

Hyundai Eon to storm the Indian markets soon

Hyundai has recently announced a new car the Eon for Indian markets. Hyundai already has the i10 and the i20 models which are highly popular lower range models. The Eon has been designed specifically for Indian roads and measures just 3.495 meters long. The car will face stiff competition from the Maruti Suzuki Alto and Ford Figo cars that already have a stronghold in the Indian middle class market.

Under the hood, the three cylinder 800 cc petrol engine produces an output of 55 horse power and torque of 74.5 N-m. The car is highly fuel efficient which is necessary for any car to survive in the Indian markets and provides a mileage of 4.7 liters of fuel per 100 kilo meter. The power is transmitted to the wheels via a five speed manual gearbox.

The city car’s major competitor is the 814 cc engine equipped Maruti Suzuki Alto which is currently the best-selling car in India. The popularity enjoyed by Alto is due to its reasonable price of around 2.32 to 3.17 lakhs depending on the model. It is speculated that Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) will probably keep the price of the Eon in a similar price range in order to woo the customers.

Arvind Saxena , Hyundai Motors India Sales & Marketing Chief has said that they believe the Eon will appeal to the Indian customers and they plan to produce around 1.5 lakh units of the city car by next year.

Audi releases new photos of the E-tron Spyder hybrid sports car

Audi USA has released new photos of their plug-in hybrid concept sports car prototype, the E-tron Spyder. The sports car is around 13.3 feet long , only 3.6 feet high, weighs roughly 1450 kilo grams and has been aerodynamically designed to greatly reduce the air drag.

Under the hood, the E-tron Spyder is powered by a 3.0 liter twin turbocharged V6 TDI Diesel engine that provides an output of 300 horse power (221 kW) to the rear wheels. Two electric motors have also been provided which produce 87 horse power (64 kW) at the front axle. The V6 TDI engine is housed at the rear end of the open roof car and provides 650N-m torque to the rear wheels. The 7-speed S-tronic automatic transmission is responsible for the distribution of power in the Spyder.

The Audi E-tron Spyder also allows for independent braking and acceleration of all four wheels thus improving the longitudinal dynamics of the two-seater sports car during sharp turns. This revolutionary technology is based on torque vectoring which allows the driver to corner the car with precision while still maintaining decent speeds.

The powered E-tron Spyder hybrid sports car can make the 0-100 km/h dash in a whopping 4.4 seconds and can attain the electronically controlled maximum speed of 250 km/h. Audi has allowed the integration of the power produced by the V6 TDI engine and the electric motors to produce a total amount of 1002 N-m of torque to provide maximum acceleration.

As expected, the combination of electric motors with the highly efficient TDI diesel engine gives wonderful mileage and very low emissions of harmful gases. It gives off only 59 grams CO2 emissions per 100 km while providing a decent mileage of 2.2 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. The E-tron Spyder houses 9.1 kWh Li-ion rechargeable battery in the front portion of the car.

Pagani Huayra to replace the Zonda

Italian innovative automaker Pagani has recently launched its latest supercar the Huayra. The founder of the car manufacturer, Horacio Pagani has stated that the Huayra has been developed from their earlier cars and is supposed to be the most powerful car on the road. Pagani is famous for producing the Zonda Cinque, their fastest car for normal roads. Their previous highly successful supercar models were the Zonda R and the Zonda.

Under the hood, the Pagani Huayra has been installed with the 6.0 liter V12 AMG engine with twin turbochargers that can give an output of over 700 Horse power and a tremendous torque of over 1000 N-m. The power is transmitted to the wheels by the 7-speed Transverse sequential transmission. A force induction kit has been used by Pagani for maximizing the engine efficiency.

The Huayra outer body has been built of a carbon and titanium composite (Carbo-Tanium) which gives the structure and also reduces the weight of the structure. Hence the car only weighs around 1350 kilograms. The ceramic coated Quad exhaust has been built of high quality materials like inconnel and titanium. The Huayra features a unique air brake which greatly improves the handling of the car.

Harrods display Stars of Africa (Rare diamond jewelry)

Harrods, London’s famous upmarket department store, added another achievement to their credit when they announced and showcased unique designs of diamond cuts and jewelry. Harrods is currently hosting the famous Royal Asscher Diamond company, who have unveiled their most recent collection of the rare ‘Stars of Africa’ diamonds. Mike Asscher, head of development of Far East business, regards the store as perfect match for this exhibition, and that the company is proud to display the Stars of Africa so close to the original Star of Africa- the Culllinan diamond.

This collection was first launched in 2009, as a tribute to the Royal Dutch Family, whose title of the ‘Royals’ was extended earlier this year. Fincantieri launches giga-yacht Fortissimo

Fincantieri, Italu’s largest yacht maker, whose name is synonymous with large award winning yachts, has done it again. Coming off the heels of the launch of the 440 feet Serene mega yacht, Fincantieri has now surpassed it with its latest Fortissimo yacht. Standing true to its name, it looks like a fort, but has the abilities of a top end speed boat, reaching a speed of 35 knots easily.

The credit for the design of this behemoth goes to Ken Freivokh Design. This giga-yacht is one of its kind with its modern and futuristic design. The 476 feet long hull has a total of 8 decks, and is one of the heaviest yacht of its class, approximately 7000 tonnes. Diesel engines will pump out 70,000 KW of energy to give it speed boat capabilities. Due to the size of the yacht, 4 water jets will aid in the total displacement and navigation, which allows the Fortissimo to cruise at an average of 18 knots, and reaching up to 35 knots.

There is no doubt about the space on board the Fortissimo. A 48 person crew will handle the yacht’s operations and function. However, the Fortissimo has guest accommodation for 16 guests only, not including the owner. The yacht also has quite a number of tenders, including a 10.5 meter Limo, two 6.2 meter general purpose, and one 10.5 meter open tender. The 8 decks will host a number of luxurious amenities, with speculation including spas, luxury suites, private theatre and cinema, gym, lounge and dining space, and a bar, among others.

However, it is yet to be seen in waters, so complete details are not out yet. Although the launch of Fortissimo concept project is not surprising as the company enjoys success in building such things, for example the Blue Ribbon winner, the ‘Destriero’.
Fincantueri also announced another yacht which it named Virage 88, which is still in concept design stage. First look guarantees another futuristic design, but whether it will beat its sister yacht Fortissimo, is yet to be seen.

2012 Lotus Evora S GP Edition Has Been Revealed: Info and Specs

Shelby releases exclusive GT500 Need for Speed Super Snake edition

Electronic Arts (EA) and Shelby USA have come together in an effort to promote EA’s latest addition to its need for Speed Series, the “Need for Speed : The Run“ by producing a 2011 Shelby GT500 Super Snake “Need for Speed” Edition muscle car. The exclusive Shelby car is currently being showcased at major gaming events and also automobile shows all over the world. The car will be offered for auction in late 2012 and also prominently feature on the video game cover.

It has been revealed that EA will donate the proceeds from the car auction to the Carroll Shelby Foundation which helps children suffering from terminal diseases and also promotes youth education. The car will certainly cost more than the 2012 Super snake Shelby which is priced at 83,000 US dollars.
The Shelby GT500 Super Snake NFS edition, which is based on the Ford Mustang GT 500, is equipped with some amazing components that make it a beast on the road. Ferrari launches the 458 Spider in Tokyo [Video]

Ferrari has officially launched the 458 Spider convertible in Japan. Ferrari F1 drivers Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso were also present in Tokyo at the launch of the supercar which was displayed the in white color, instead of the red which is usually associated with the Italian automaker.
This year’s Frankfurt Motor Show had seen the showcasing of many new automobile including the Ferrari 458 Spider supercar. Ferrari has already released the specifications and pricing details for the powerful convertible. The 458 spider is supposed to cost around 257,000 US dollars.

Under the hood, the convertible is equipped with the powerful V-8 engine with a displacement of 4.5 liters, yields a net output of 570 HP and 398 lb-ft of Torque at 6,000 RPM. The Ferrari also features direct fuel injection and a seven speed dual-clutch F1 gearbox to transmit the output power to the wheels.

Ferrari is known worldwide for its high performance and the 458 Spider does not disappoint in this regard. The convertible can attain a maximum speed of 198 miles per hour. Nissan Motors have been working hard to improve the safety equipment provided with their cars in order to lessen the damage caused by mishaps. Nissan has developed new innovative technologies that can help correct the driver’s mistakes which lead to car accidents. Some of these are Predictive Forward Collision Warning system, Multi-sensing system with Rear camera, Acceleration suppression for pedal Misapplication. The Predictive Forward Collision Warning system keeps track of the speed and distance of the vehicles in the front of the car. Nissan developed this system in order to avoid the pileup accidents that occur frequently.

Hyundai to showcase the Genesis Coupe Hurricane SC at SEMA

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) will be holding their annual SEMA show in Las Vegas for leading automobile companies to showcase their innovative car models. Hyundai Motors has grabbed the spotlight by announcing their third product that will be showcased at one of the largest automotive equipment shows on the planet. The Hurricane Genesis Coupe SC Edition is supposed to be the third car that will be shown by Hyundai.It had previously announced the ARK Performance Veloster and the PM lifestyle Veloster for the event.

Under the hood, the Genesis Coupe Hurricane is powered by a six cylinder 3.8 liter V-6 supercharged engine to provide a net output of around 450 Horsepower. The Hyundai America Technical Centre Inc. (HATCI) has also employed the Magnuson liquid-to air intercooler, a light-weight flywheel and various technologies to maximize the efficiency of the V-6 engine. The car interior also is very lavish and is provided with Katzkin leather finished panels and designer seats. The sound system is also very powerful and designed by world-class Harman Lexicon.
The Hyundai Genesis Coupe Hurricane also features Rhis Millen streamlined aerodynamic body, Brembo brakes, Bilstein suspensions and 19 inch Hankook runner wrapped Enkei rims among other stuff to make it a powerful force on the road.

David Dutko, senior engineer at HATCI has said that the V-6 engine when coupled to their Magnuson Supercharger can produce a power output comparable to the V-8 engine. Hyundai Motors has indicated that they plan to release more cars like the Genesis Coupe equipped with the Magnuson technology in the future.

Nissan Altima to feature improved Drivetrain and Transmission

Nissan has decided to improve the fuel efficiency of its newer models by employing various progressive components and technologies. The Japanese manufacturer recently showcased some of the new improvements in their car models during an auto show at Japan. The Nissan Altima Sedan will be the first car that will be released with some of these improved components.

The Altima sedan was earlier equipped with the Toyota hybrid drivetrain mechanism. Nissan Motors USA has improved upon this and will provide the first in-house front wheel hybrid drivetrain mechanism in the newer car model. The Next Altima will also feature the continuously variable gearbox for efficient transmission of power to the wheels.

According to Nissan, the Infiniti M hybrid which has a rear-wheel-drive was the test source for the improved drivetrain mechanism. The newer models will be powered by a 2.5 liter four cylinder engine coupled with a supercharger and the hybrid drivetrain will consist of one motor and two clutches.
The existing model of Altima does not feature the supercharger and is therefore generates less power than the newer model. The next generation of Nissan hybrid cars will combine the power of the electric motor and the engine with the Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) to achieve better fuel efficiency.

Nissan Motors have said that they will continue to develop and incorporate better fuel efficient technologies in their future endeavours.

Holden launches 2012 Commodore Equipe special edition model

John Elwsorth, Holden marketing and sales chief has recently commented that they are pleased by the tremendous sales of their Holden Commodore model in Australian markets and will be releasing a new Special Edition Equipe car.

The Holden Commodore Special Edition Equipe is similar to the highly successful Commodore model in many aspects. Under the hood, the Equipe comes with a powerful SIDI V6 engine with 3.0 liter displacement. The SIDI V6 gives an output of 255 Horsepower and torque of 290 N-m. The car features a reverse parking camera, 18 inch alloy wheels, chrome highlighted front grill, fog lights and the Equipe badge on the outside. The interior is provided with leather coated steering wheel and upholstery. Holden has employed flex-fuel technology in the Equipe to make it run even on 85 per cent ethanol fuel. The car is supposed to be fuel efficient and gives a mileage of 8.9 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.

The Special Edition Equipe has been provided with a host of wonderful features like Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic brake assist, Electronic
brake force distribution, Electronic Stability system, Bluetooth/USB and iPod compatibility and the Touchscreen Holden-iQ system which make the driving experience very comfortable.

GM introduces Camaro Convertible

General Motors just announced that the most powerful production convertible, 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible, will be launched at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. Camaro’s chief engineer Al Oppenheiser comments that the car will grab its place in automotive history and will satisfy any customer, when they hit the engine or bring down the top. General Motors also claimed that the new Camaro Convertible is the most powerful and adequate convertible ever built, at any price. The car is expected to enter sales by the end of 2012.

General Motors also revealed the technical specifications of the new Camaro Convertible, which clearly shows the huge margins between the Camaro Convertible and its other competitors. The new Camaro ZL1 will run on a V8 6.2 liter engine producing a whopping 580 hp, and pound feet of torque. This clearly surpasses current leaders- the 430 hp Corvette Convertible, the classic favorite Chevelle 454 Convertible, and even Aston Martin Volante- 470 hp, Mercedes-Benz at 518 hp, and even the 550 hp Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Convertible. The only car that may match the speed of Camaro Convertible is Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible with 530 hp engine.

Its evident that the horsepower battle still runs, with Ford announcing their plans for a new GT500 running on a 5.8 liter V8 engine.

Chevy Camaro Convertible will be utilizing the Magnetic Ride system, which made it entry in the Corvette’s 2003 edition. The Magnetic Ride system monitors and adjust damping up to 1,000 times per second according to driving conditions. This is in addition to standard Chevrolet’s Performance and Traction Management.

BMW F02 7 Series Long Version by Tuningwerk: Official Info and Photos

Since we are kinda used to the idea of some tuner to upgrade the BMW cars, it doesn’t come as a surprise the fact that the Bavarian-based Tuningwerk company from Puchheim in Munich area has released their program for the BMW F02 7 Series Long Version.

Some improvements have definitely been given to the BMW, because now the 7 Series engine produces 720bhpP with the maximum torque of 1,090Nm. The top speed is reached at 350km/h as well as the really “smooth” acceleration from 0 to 100km/h is done in just 3.5 seconds. Spy photos: Mercedes-Benz AMG Black Series Sedan spotted

The German automaker Mercedes-Benz was recently spotted testing a C-Class sedan at the Nürburgring course. The spy shots reveal that the car tested was similar to the C63 AMG Coupe Black series which was showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this year. The new car looks very stylish and it has been indicated that Mercedes-Benz will be releasing the AMG C-Class Sedan in addition to the AMG BS Coupe.

The four-door Sedan is supposed to feature an electronically controlled slip differential, the seven-speed dual-clutch AMG Speedshift transmission and an improved framework design which will allow it to deliver exceptional performance on the road. Moreover the AMG Black Series Sedan will be equipped with an enhanced braking system and revised suspensions to provide a smooth driving experience.

At the Frankfurt motor show it was revealed that the regular C63 AMG coupe would be equipped with the potent 8 cylinder 6.2 liter V8 engine providing an output of 457 Horse power and 600 Nm of torque. Falko, a new UK based aviation asset manager, has teamed up with UK’s leading design consultancy Design Q to unveil their latest design- The Avro Business Jet, at the NBAA 2011 Annual Meeting and Convention in Las Vegas. Design Q is already become popular in the aviation circle with its innovative and futuristic aircraft designs. Gary Doy, Director of Design Q launched this new design titled ‘ABJ Q’ stating that James Bond is their inspiration behind this design, and describes the plane as one James Bond would have liked to own. The executive version of the Avro regional jets are named so as a homage to Q, who designs secret gadgets for James Bond.

ABJ Q aims to challenge the preconceived ideology of luxury in a business jet, and has kept in mind the nature of James Bond movies- hidden technology and gadgets. The furniture are designed specifically to emphasize on the technological qualities of the design. Gadgets are hidden within the furniture, and can be accessed when needed. Modified seats replace the traditional look of the seat architecture, made from the most comfortable leather. The sofas have a detachable backrests which adds to the comfort provided.

The controls in the lounge allows the owners to modify the cabin settings according to their own wishes. The bulkheads hides a refreshment centre and hidden monitors. This design, fifth in its series focuses on the office environment, and therefore has a central cabin for an open plan office. The aesthetics of the plane has been planned very carefully, with different types of lighting and focus lights provided according to the ambiance. Chevrolet to convertible showcase Camaro ZL1 at Los Angeles Auto Show

It has been revealed that Chevrolet will be showcasing their brand new convertible 2013 Camaro ZL1 at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this year. In the words of Al Oppenheiser, Chevrolet official, this car would be “one of the most capable and powerful convertibles” in the market when it launches.

The Camaro ZL1 convertible has been advertised to give outstanding performance on tracks as well as roads. Performance Traction Management which was developed by General Motors (GM) will be provided with the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible. The efficient traction control would result in better handling of the car while turning at high speeds. The Performance Traction Management enhances the acceleration and track gripping capabilities of the Camaro as it incorporates traction control, launch control, magnetic ride control, and electronic stability control.

Chevrolet has used innovative framework and powertrain technologies that make the Camaro a powerful car. The GM engineers have provided structural reinforcements such as a hydro foamed tube in the A-pillars, an inner reinforcement bracket in the windshield header, a reinforced front hinge pillar and reinforcements inside the rockers.These reinforcements have greatly reduced the body and ride motions and improved noise and vibration characteristics.

The 1969 Corvette L88 holds the NCRS Regional Top Flight award, it has been featured an NCRS training seminar display vehicleand has been certified with the Survivor status by Bloomington Gold. Besides that, the Corvette is appearently 100 percent original, from the tires to all its engine and design parts, and on top of it all, it comes with the original owner history.

This specific model is deffinitely a gold mine, since the one sold in May this year at Indianapolis got $222.600. The sports car seems to have set a standard because its being sold in the quarter-million range and exclusivity is everything because only 116 units of this model have been made in 1969.

I bet all the money are worth, not only because of its “age”, but because of the incredibly impeccable state in which it has been sold, not mentioning the fact that even the keys are the original ones, since 1969. Vintage appears to be the most valuable criterion, both in financial department and the historical significance.

New Mercedes class S: Spy Shots

According to these pictures, a new Mercedes S-Class is on the way, and reports say that it is going to be loaded with hi-tech equippment and gadgets.

One of them would be the 6D-Vision which is a system designed to spot pedestrians and cyclists appearing from behind parked cars, and which is able to activate emergency braking in 200ms, while the average human will take 500 milliseconds to process that information.

Another gadget would be the Magic Body Control (MBC), which is a system designed to improve comfort. This set-up scans the road ahead and adjusts the suspension accordingly to help soak up and rough roads. There’s also a system that can counteract body-roll for better handling.

As far as the interiour is concerned, Mercedes-Benz made it very futuristic, with large TFT screens and digital dials. Radar guided cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot warning, night vision cameras and automatic braking systems will all be fitted.
And of course, the engine line-up, which isn’t inferiour, will feature the V6, V8 and even V12 engines, which are more than efficient and filled with gadgets like cylinder deactivation, stop/start and mild-hybrid systems to pass strict EU6 regulations. The most basic models are expected to be producing around 300bhp and hot AMG models with over 650bhp.

This new Mercedes S-Class is expected to arrive sometime midway through 2012, and closely to be followed by a two-door coupe and even a convertible version.

AEM Cold Air intake for the 2011 ++ Mustang V6: new product

The major attention when it comes to aftermarket parts is given to the Mustang GT and Shelby GT500, but fortunately, now upgrades are starting to be offered by many companies for the Mustang V6 as well.

The cold air intake system from AEM featuring their patented Dryflow air filter and a direct bolt-on design is the latest. A mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube finished in gray (part #21-8123DC) or polished (21-8123DP), an air box with removable top, heavy duty 3/16? brackets and double-wound hose clamps are also included in the system.

According to AEM its intake flows more air than the stock system and appearently, they have the dyno numbers to prove it. Their testing shows that the AEM intake provides a max gain of six horsepower @ 3500 rpm and 9 lb-ft torque @ 3400 rpm. Interestingly, the AEM intake doesn’t provide any benefit at higher rpms, with the dyno showing identical horsepower and a loss of two lb-ft torque @ 7000 rpm.

A limited lifetime warranty is offered by AEM in order to back up the intake for the Mustang V6.

Terrifying Accident at Bathurst 1000 [Video]

Sunday’s Bathurst 1000 started pretty ok, with no incidents whatsoever for Jim Beam Racing duo Steve Johnson and David Besnard. But things changed drastically on the 112th lap of the 161-lap endurance event, Besnard hitting a tire bundle and crashing with his car spilling fuel which then ignited along the track.

The track exploded into a snaking inferno that consumed his car and a few meters around it, while he was trapped inside the vehicle. Fortunately, fire marshals were quickly on the scene, managing to get the driver out of the car unharmed, and to put out the fire that started on the track.

“I’ve had some big accidents, but I’ve never had flames – that was no fun at all.”
“My eyes were stinging a bit from the fire extinguisher. I think [the fire marshals] thought I was on fire – I was covered in the stuff. But I’d rather have a bit of that over me than flames.

Holden rookie Cameron Waters, 17, also hit a wall and had a lengthy spell in the pits but managed to return to the track.

Saturn Sky by Bulgarian Design House Vilner: Info and Photos

Even though in Europe, the closest thing to an Saturn Sky is the Opel Speedster GT, the Bulgarian design house Vilner managed to get its hand on an example of the American roadster model. This vehicle was appearently brought in by a customer who eanted to change a few things here an there at his two-seater sports model.

Which is the reason Vilner started working at the project immediately, coming up with a rather amazing result. We will start with the exteriour, which is covered up in a blue pearl vinyl wrap that’s combined with matte black accents for the mirror caps, grille, rear diffuser and the alloy wheels, and a gold matte hue for the wheel bolts, and the headlamp, taillight and front bumper trims, finishing the whole exteriour body kit with the LED units up front.

The interior designed by the Sofia-based tuner has been completely revamped with custom-made leather hides in red and black Alcantara that cover most surfaces along with carbon-fibre trim accents. Vilner also made some styling changes the Sky’s instrument panel, paying a lot of attention at the details.

The car has been given a touch of good taste and style, which fits it more than well, giving it the attitude it deserves. Check the photos!

Due to the fact that the competition is appearently moving very quickly and very serious about their projects – the Maserati Suv has been reveiled, rumours about a Lamborghini Suv have been going around for quite a while now – , Bentley has decided not to lag behind, and it deffinitely won’t due to the plans they have.

New details about the super-lux Bentley SUV emerged, and it appears that the car will have 12 Cylinders under its sleek bonnet. And with this, all concernes regarding being set apart from the rivals is gone.

“We will be first to use a 12-cylinder petrol engine in a luxury SUV. I like this idea; it makes clear whose car is the boss,” said Bentley CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer.

The most probable choice will be the current W12 unit that powers the Continental range, but the VW Group has another ace in its sleek, the magnificent V12 TDI that they once put into the Audi Q7 with amazing results.
But Bentley planned the V12 TDI for a few years after the official launch, so it is mostly probable that the car will be unveiled with the W12 unit.
The launch of the vehicle is set for 2015, but until then we will keep gathering more details about its evolution.

Hennessey 20th anniversary Camaro to be revealed: Info and Specs

Due to the fact that the Hennessey’s 20th anniversary needs to be celebrated, a limited edition of the HPE650 Camaro will be offered in both coupe and convertible versions, which will be available in just 20 units.

The Camaro HPE650 will be powered by the same 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine which is delivering 655 horsepower at 6.300 rpm, mated to a either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. Hennessey also says that the limited edition can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and the quarter mile is finished in 11.7 seconds with a top speed of 122 mph.

2012 Holden Commodore Special Edition team receives $9500 added extras

A new 2012 Holden Commodore Special Edition Equipe has been announced with $9500 worth of added extras, including alloy wheels, leather trim, and a reversing camera.

Based on the 3.0-litre SIDI V6, the new Series II Commodore Equipe is available in sedan and Sportwagen form, coming with a slightly revised front grille with chrome highlights, new 18-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery and wrapped steering wheel, a reverse parking camera, matching chrome instrument cluster surrounds, fog lights, and Equipe badging.

Standard equipment such as Traction Control System (TCS), Holden’s touchscreen Holden-iQ system, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Bluetooth/USB and iPod compatibility, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA), and six airbags also comes with it.

The Special Edition is able to run on 85 per cent ethanol thanks to its flex-fuel technology, and like the normal Holden Commodore fitted with the 3.0-litre SIDI V6, it offers 190kW of power and 290Nm of torque coming with an average fuel consumption rating of 8.9L/100km.
