When I first read the article on Carmagazine.com, I had to do a shot of double on today's date. It could be that I have found in some time Groundhog Day-like, and today was really April 1st? It is not the case, but I still take the following information with a grain of salt. If the Auto Guide and car are correct, BMW will be placed the name of series 3, but only in certain models. You can add a series 2 as well, and here is how the switch goes to work:
Series 1 cars will be front drive hatchbacks
Series 2 cars will be today's 1 Cup series and convertible
3 Series cars will be only Sedan
4 Series cars will be convertible 3 and series today's coup
This probably makes sense for the 1 series, but it could proceed with caution in changing the name of the 3 series if BMW. Around the world, is BMW 3 series best selling line and renaming of the best-selling product of the rare marketing time ends well. If this is true, BMW has his work cut for them in the creation of awareness of new product lines. The switch of the new names will not happen until 2013 and not completed until the year 2015, at least the Bavarian manufacturer has time on his side.
