If newspaper Nikkan Kogyo's Japan es proper, the crossing of Subaru Tribeca and the Mazda6 sedan can be put to rest in the very near future. Subaru has stopped working on the development of a new generation of Tribeca, mainly from the current version has sold year only 910 units to date. The Tribeca is chewing the production capacity at the plant of Subaru of Indiana, which could be used to produce high demand Legacy and Outback models. Even a change in design from the original (and controversial) style has not been enough to increase sales of Tribeca, as consumers have a hard time find out exactly where stands the crossover to its competition.

Mazda gradually the Mazda6 would like more of a surprise, since that would leave them without a medium-sized sedan. The Mazda6 sales have not been able to meet the expectations from the redesign 2008: Mazda had hoped for an annual production of 100,000 units, but built less than half that of 2010. To Mazda extract plug in the Mazda6, is quite possible that it would abandon the rock flat, installation of my for one with lower costs of operation, and sources Mazda considering a switch of production in Mexico.

The Tribeca or the Mazda6 are bad decisions, but both lack a strong identity. The Tribeca joined bland style of peculiar style, and even a single luxury is not enough to get buyers. Lower prices which probably increase sales, at least temporarily, but the real problem is the population of other viable options in the segment. The Tribeca is simply nothing better than its competitors, many of which offer a lower price. The Mazda6, on the other hand, is quite competitive against offerings from Honda and Toyota, but lacks distinctive style or performance. Where is the Mazdaspeed version? In the manual transmission option to crop the upper levels of the base model? For a manufacturer who built his reputation racing and fun to drive cars, the Mazda6 seems almost an afterthought. Perhaps it really is time to turn it off.
