A single team of Fiat and Chrysler management

According to the CEO of both companies, Sergio Marchionne, Fiat SpA and Chrysler Group LLC will soon have a single management structure. The Bloomberg financial news agency reported that Marchionne told journalists in Zurich that it intends to implement its management unified team "quite quickly", but he declined to specify a date.

It seems that Sergio Marchionne is working on management changes as it steps up the integration of the two companies. The CEO of plans to merge presents two builders to reduce costs and achieve a goal of more than 100 billion euros ($140 billion) in income combined in 2014. In may, the Executive said that the time of the merger was not decided yet, adding that a combination not likely this year.

Initially the Italian brand has acquired a stake of 20% for Chrysler by the Government of the United States but aims to be 57% at the end of 2011, having already agreed with the Government to pay 500 million dollars for the remainder of 6% and expect to receive another 5% as payment to develop a fuel-efficient for U.S. manufacturer's vehicle.

Because that Italy was furor when Marchionne has suggested that the unified Fiat-Chrysler may be headquartered in Detroit, the unified management structure could be yet another source of controversy. This will be, after all, the more direct signal yet whether or not the Fiat-Chrysler is an Italian company with global operations, an Italian-American alliance or a truly global company.
