The upcoming Version of modern day of 550 Spyder officially confirmed.

It's now official! A version of the classic 550 Spyder entry-level will be affected by the production line for Porsche, as confirmed by Matthias Mueller, the pattern of car manufacturer.

Matthias Mueller, Executive Porsche, confirmed to the German newspaper Handelsblatt that the Stuttgart company will build a version of 'modern-day' of the classic 550 Spyder as an entry-level model. The Directorate said:


"I can imagine that such a modern version of the famous Porsche"James dean"would be welcomed by our customers." The new model will not be retro style. “


This new model will probably benefit the engine four-cylinder boxer, identical to that of his "brother", which will be the size to 2.5 litres and turbocharger, produces approximately 360 BHP.


Also known as "the Baby-Boxter", the new Porsche model should be mi-bimoteur and can share the same platform as the Audi R4 roadster proposed. The design of the future model will be retro-style, according to Mueller.


The head of R & D, Wolfgang Durheimer, said at the Detroit show last January: "we have an engine four-cylinder boxer under development.". He admitted that the unit "may be applied" to the Boxster and Cayman.

The new model should cost about 55 €000, with an unknown release date for the moment.
