Two days ago, we presented a report which stated that "Toyota RAV4 EV is not available to the Public." It is now time to correct this report, which contradicts this report because we now have an official statement given on July 19, 2011. The statement said:
"Recent reports have incorrectly said that the RAV4 EV in 2012 will be only marketed in the fleet and car-sharing programs. We would like the pendulums. The RAV4 EV 2012 will be finally sold to the general public. We expect robust public interest the RAV4 EV and would like to inform the consumer that their future vehicle options include a battery electric Toyota.
Toyota is the only manufacturer with two electric vehicles on the market in 2012 - the RAV4 EV and the QI of Scion EV. While the RAV4 EV will be available to the public, the QI Scion EV will be marketed fleet and carpooling programs only. »
It's now official. Even though some rumours and reports, said the opposite, we want to remedy what we said two days ago.
