Nissan: N is for "Niche"?

Suppose that you is on the market for a new car, but do not have no idea what you want yet. Conventional wisdom says look to your lifestyle, your budget and your needs vs want and use it as a point. I say probably only could go to the Web site of Nissan and begin there also. In the case of large amount of offers, Nissan (and, by extension, Infiniti) has almost all that your heart could ever want. But will come a point when there are too many options? Is each time more than one manufacturer of niche than a conventional one Nissan?

Hello, I'm all options. You can select the car basic b-segment as the vice versa; the friendly Maxima of the Executive and family; the border, one of the few remaining small trucks in the United States; or a yacht of Earth as the Navy. Would she like electric? Pick up a map. What such a supercar? No more than the GT-r. And luxury sports? Approaching the Infiniti line. Could go in and the list of their cars (for me anyway) raises the question: how much is too much?

I guess that it occurred to me this year as VI will debut three new models of alternative: the leaf, the Juke and more recently, the Murano cross-Cabriolet. With each, Nissan said its core demographic for these cars and each one seemed quite specific and narrow. In addition, say that his style is polarizing would be an exaggeration. I started wondering why were not focusing on upgrading its existing training? (Do too long consumers have been asking for a redesigned Altima (tail lights clear)? do still? what is this, 2002?), saying that the Titan is getting long in the tooth, and to be perfectly honest, I forgot that the Sentra existed for one minute. Do they have given its sales volume expose focus on clumsy looking for, but it was completely covered, convertible crosses because - as rumor: wife of the CEO wanted to achieve the higher drop Murano?

For example, I am a little saddened see that little Sentra SE-R Spec V left the road has been, in a shell of induction of yawning and now not even a competitor to the likes of Civic Si. That heritage, forgotten, focus on the younger, more agile, more fun offers as the Juke. Should prune their expansive limbs? Will be forced to condense after the devastating earthquake and tsunami for economic reasons, anyway? Without a doubt, then remains to be seen, not only for Nissan but Japanese automakers in general. But even before the destruction, do you think Nissan made many niche vehicles, or was happy to have so many to choose from?
