Everything is big in Texas, and now even the speed limit will be the largest in America. The House of representatives from Texas recently approved a new law of transport.  Part of it allows the Department of transportation of Texas to establish speed limits at 85 MPH at selected Interstate.

Texas already has more than 520 miles of the Interstate where roads have a speed limit of 80 mph. The States of Montana and Wyoming have enjoyed a speed limit of 80 km/h for more than a decade in hundreds of kilometers of roads as well. One area that can receive the 85 km/h speed limit in Texas is a long stretch of Interstate 10, where it has a line of sight flat long shoulder lanes wide and good.

It must be asked, it is to raise the speed limit 85 mph on any area of United States a good idea? Insurance companies do not seem to think so. Jerry Johns, a spokesman of the southwestern insurance information service believes that the increase of the speed limit in some areas will have a dramatic impact on the rate of deaths and injuries on the roads where the speed of 85 mph limit applies. Although drivers are already above the speed limit of 70 km/h on motorways, 85 mph not only increase the bet, literally, but increase the consumption of fuel during a time when gas prices are almost record again. Despite the death of road down level lowest since 1949, a speed of 85 mph limit could have adverse effects in that statistic.

We must also think about the greater ability and vehicle capabilities needed to maintain a speed of 85 km/h in some of the roads of United States. It is bad that we have people carelessly up to excessive speeds on highways and interstate highways U.S.. The point would be necessary to carry out an in-depth analysis of safety of roads can register a speed limit of 85 mph.

Do you think that it is a good idea to apply a speed of 85 km/h limit? Do if so, where should it be published? If you object, tell us why in the comments area below.
